A Catalytic Hub for Evolving Collective Consciousness

The Human Energy Project is a catalytic hub for evolving collective consciousness. The non-profit organization was founded "to share a new scientific and cosmic story re-introducing the Noosphere as a source of meaning for future generations in our globalizing world."

The project addresses the current "challenges of unprecedented technological and social change which, together with the scientific picture of an aimless universe, have created a crisis of orientation."

Four years ago cosmologist Brian Thomas Swimme narrated a series of 30 short videos for Human Energy on YouTube introducing a Third Story of the Universe - exploring eight conditions that gave rise to the Noosphere in five stages of human history: Paleolithic (300,000 - 9,000 years BCE); Neolithic (9,000 - 3,000 BCE); Classical (3,000 BCE - 1,400 CE); Modern (1,400 CE - present); and the Future,

"The Third Story of the Universe offers a meaningful way to understand this moment in the history of our species. This new cosmic story contrasts with rigid interpretations of religions and myths (the First Story) as well as current versions of science that eliminate meaning and purpose from the universe (the Second Story)." The Third Story that Human Energy is proposing is about renewing the sense of purpose... through a deeper understanding of the evidence-based scientific method and evolutionary theory.

As Pierre Teilhard de Chardin put it, ‘There is something afoot in the universe, something that looks like gestation and birth.’ In other words, a plan, a purpose to it all."

Human Energy sponsors a variety of opportunities for in-person interdisciplinary conversation. Most recently they hosted a Global Salon on June 12, 2025, in New York City: Cultivating Agency, Connection, and Purpose in the Age of AI.

Human Energy is now offering GenOptimist AI - a customized version of ChatGPT "emphasizing science-based optimism and collective decision-making,"
